Ministry in Thessalonica

.... When the next Sabbath came to Thessalonica, Paul reasoned from the Scriptures in the synagogue; and in the next week he received a much-needed aid package from the Philippians. He reasoned with the Thessalonians again on the following Sabbath, and again received aid from the Philippians (Philippians 4:16). But after the third Sabbath, as the Jewish leaders became envious, Paul and his companions were in danger and were forced to flee to Berea by night (Acts 17:2,10). Their logistical chain was disrupted.
.
....
Aid from the Philippians was curtailed, not because they no longer cared, but because the opportunity evaded them (Philippians 4:10). Traveling in the wilderness with large sums of money was dangerous, especially when they could not determine Paul’s location. But they didn't use it as an excuse to abandon him. In the meantime, they saved their contributions to give to him later (Philippians 4:18).
